Renting a sloop for two in 's-Hertogenbosch works as an alternative to a lunch date or a walk. The boat has room for seven people, but for a couple that means plenty of space for a picnic, a bottle of wine, and a blanket. The rental company gives a short briefing and after that you're on your own on the water.
The route runs along the Dieze, the Smalle en Brede Haven, and the Stadsdommel. Between the old walls and low bridges it's peaceful despite the hustle of the city. You can dock at a terrace for a drink, or find a quiet stretch to eat. The three-hour cruise gives you enough time to see everything without rushing, and a dinner in the city is the natural way to round it off.
