The price of boat rental in the Netherlands depends mainly on the type of boat, region, and season. For 2026, daily rates for a motorboat (sloep) are roughly between one hundred fifty and three hundred euros, a whisper boat is cheaper, and a sailboat for a day quickly runs above four hundred euros. In high season, weekends are more expensive than weekdays.
On top of the daily rate, there are fixed extra costs. The deposit is often between two hundred and one thousand euros and is blocked on your credit card. Fuel is sometimes included, sometimes charged afterwards per hour sailed. Cleaning, an optional skipper, a mooring for overnight stays, and cancellation insurance are added on top. Plan a buffer of fifteen to twenty percent on top of the base price for these items. Read the terms and conditions carefully before you confirm your booking.

Decide what type of boat you need: motorboat (sloep), whisper boat, sailboat, or motorboat.
Request a total price from three rental companies, not just the daily rate.
Add up the deposit, fuel, cleaning, and any skipper costs separately.
Check whether your sailing experience and any required boat licence meet the requirements for that type of boat.
Add fifteen percent on top of the total for insurance and miscellaneous costs.
Compare the actual total price between providers, not the advertised daily rate.

Suggestions
- Book on weekdays for noticeably lower rates.
- Ask whether the deposit is charged as a credit card hold or via bank transfer.
- Check whether fuel is billed per hour or per litre.
- Take out cancellation insurance if the weather forecast looks poor.
- Keep a separate payment buffer set aside for the deposit.
Variations
- - Vraag offertes op voor één weekend en één doordeweekse dag, vergelijk.
- - Splits kosten met een groep van zes, per persoon valt het mee.
- - Kies bewust een goedkoper bootje voor een halve dag in plaats van een hele.
