pace
The world at six in the morning feels like a freshly made room no one has walked through yet. The air is sharper, quieter, as if the night has rinsed away every sound. Your feet find their rhythm on streets that are busy by day but now lie empty like a stage after the show. Houses stand dark and closed, except for that one where someone is making coffee behind a lit kitchen window.
Walking without a destination clears space in your head that doesn't exist during the day. Your legs move, your breathing finds its pace, and slowly the sky begins to shift from black to dark blue to something that has no name yet. The first bird sings somewhere high in a tree. A cyclist passes with bags of newspapers. The day starts taking shape around you, minute by minute, as if you're watching a photograph develop.

The night before: check sunrise time. Set your alarm for 30 minutes earlier. Lay out warm clothes, shoes by the door. Commit by telling someone or writing it down.
Suggestion: Go to bed early. This isn't about discipline, it's about setting yourself up to receive the morning. When the alarm goes. Don't think. Feet on the floor. Dress. Splash water on your face. Walk out the door within five minutes.
Suggestion: The thinking mind will tell you the bed is better. It's lying.Stand outside your front door. Feel the temperature on your face. The world smells different at this hour, cleaner, emptier, like it was just rinsed.
Pick a direction. Not a route, a direction. Walk toward it. No map, no goal, no step count. Just forward.
Suggestion: If you reach a fork, take the one you've never taken. Novelty is part of the practice. The sky changes every minute at this hour. You can't photograph it fast enough, so you stop trying. You just look. The blue deepens, then warms, then splits into pinks you have no name for.
Walk for at least 45 minutes. Notice the first lights turning on in houses. The first person you see. The first bird you hear. Count them if you want.
Find a bench or a wall. Sit for five minutes. Watch the sunrise, or if it's cloudy, watch the light change. There's no bad sunrise.
Walk home slowly. Let the return be different from the departure. Stop at a bakery if one is open. Buy something warm.
4I've lived in this neighbourhood for years and never seen it at this hour. The same streets, the same buildings, but the light made everything new. I was the only witness.
Back home. Make coffee or tea. Sit by a window. Write three things you noticed that you've never noticed before.
Suggestion: Don't post about it. Let this one be just yours. For anyone copying this
