Nematodes, also known as roundworms, are microscopic worms that live naturally in the soil. They are harmless to humans and pets, but they do take care of harmful insects and larvae. That makes them a great natural alternative to chemical pesticides.

Buy nematodes at your local garden centre or online. Mix the powder with water and spray the mixture onto the soil around your plants, following the instructions on the packaging.
Suggestion: Read the dosage carefully, as it differs per type of nematode.Apply them in early spring or late summer, when the soil temperature is between 12 and 20 degrees. That's when they survive best.
Keep watering as normal afterwards. Nematodes stay active for up to six weeks. Check the soil for new infestations and repeat if needed.
