Nematodes are tiny soil worms, also known as roundworms. Harmless to humans and animals, but they combat harmful insects and larvae.
Buy nematodes at the garden center or online. Mix the powder with water and spray the mixture onto the soil around your plants, according to the packaging.
Suggestion: Read the dosage carefully, as it differs per type of nematode.Apply them in early spring or late summer, when the soil temperature is between 12 and 20 degrees. That's when they survive best.
Continue watering normally afterwards. Nematodes remain active for up to six weeks. Check the soil for new pests and repeat if necessary.
