Getting Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi

Turn a tiny Raspberry Pi into the beating heart of your smart home. Home Assistant will be up and running in an hour.
A smart home doesn't have to live in the cloud. With Home Assistant, an open source platform, you control your lights, sensors and devices from a small box on your desk: the Raspberry Pi. You don't need much, a Pi 3 or 4, a microSD card and a stable internet connection.
You write the image to the card, pop it into the Pi and switch the power on. The Pi boots on its own and loads the system. Then you open a browser, connect to the welcome screen and start setting things up. From that moment on, your home is a little smarter and you're the one in control.

Get ready: a Raspberry Pi (model 3B, 3B+ or 4), a microSD card of at least 32 GB, a card reader with flashing software such as balenaEtcher, and a stable internet connection.
Download the Home Assistant image for the Raspberry Pi from the official website home-assistant.io.
Write the image to your SD card using balenaEtcher and carefully select the correct drive so you don't lose any data.
Insert the card into the Pi and connect the power supply. The Pi boots automatically and loads Home Assistant.
On the same network, go to http://homeassistant.local:8123, see the welcome screen and start setting things up.
