Drentse Golfclub De Gelpenberg, founded in 1970, is the oldest golf club in Drenthe and sits on more than 60 hectares among heathlands, forests and water features just outside the village of Aalden. The 18-hole PAR 72 championship course plus a 9-hole PAR 3 course are regarded as the best golf courses in the north of the Netherlands.
The spacious clubhouse features a brasserie, bar, terrace, golf shop and meeting rooms. Guests are welcome but must book a tee time in advance; green fees start from €60.
