The Zaanse gliding club flies from a field near Castricum, close enough to the coast for ridge soaring along the dunes when the wind sits right. Members race and fly cross country, and visitors can book a flight along. There is a terrace at the clubhouse for the waiting part, which in gliding is most of it.
