De Koninklijke Haagsche Golf & Country Club, founded in 1893, is the oldest golf club in the Netherlands and is situated in the dunes of the Meijendel nature reserve near Wassenaar. The current 18-hole links course was designed in 1938–1939 by the renowned architects Harry Colt and Hugh Alison and is known for its rolling dune terrain and challenging greens.
In 1993, Queen Beatrix granted the club the title 'Koninklijk' (Royal). Visitors are welcome Monday through Friday, provided they book in advance and hold a valid handicap certificate.
