Navagio Beach, also known as Shipwreck Beach or Smugglers Cove, is an isolated cove on the northwest coast of the Greek island of Zakynthos, surrounded by limestone cliffs roughly 200 metres high. The beach takes its name from the wreck of the cargo ship MV Panagiotis, which ran aground here in 1980 and has since become an iconic backdrop between the white pebble shore and turquoise water. The spot is only accessible by boat and is considered one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Due to the risk of rockslides, the beach itself is currently closed; visitors can admire the bay from the cliffs or from a boat at a distance.
