We climb the sixteenth-century tower as the light fades over the Waterland polder. From the roof, the meadows and distant city skyline stretch out around us.

This sturdy sixteenth-century tower rises high above the tiny village of Ransdorp. Climb the stairs to the flat roof and look out over meadows, ditches, and in the distance the Amsterdam skyline. Open on weekends during the season, and nearly every day in July and August.
