Six hundred members and a runway most clubs can only envy.
Founded in 1963 and now one of the largest flying clubs and training organisations in the country, with around six hundred members. What sets it apart is the field: this is a full commercial airport, so members learn to fly amid airline traffic, with a control tower and instrument approaches. Non-members can come along on a flight, passport required.
