Klein Curacao is a two-hour sail east of the main island, an uninhabited flat island with a lighthouse, white sand, and a battered shipwreck on the north coast. Most boats leave at seven in the morning from Spaanse Water, a short ride from Jan Thiel. On the way out, it's wise to sit in the middle of the boat, that's where you feel the waves the least.
Once ashore you have about six hours. Snorkeling on the turtle side, a walk past the lighthouse, lunch on board or at the cabana. It's hot and there's no natural shade, so stay under a parasol when you're not swimming. On the way back, everyone goes quiet for a while. Arrival around six, you're exhausted but satisfied.

Suggestions
- Book at least a week in advance, especially in high season.
- Take half a seasickness tablet before departure if you're prone to it.
- Long sleeves or a rash guard for in the water, shade is hard to come by.
