Set sail from 's-Hertogenbosch for a day along the Bossche Broek nature reserve, with the Dommel as your main route and the Binnendieze as a surprising way back.
The Bossche Broek is a low-lying meadow area just south of the fortified city of 's-Hertogenbosch, cut through by the Dommel and smaller drainage channels. In a sloop you take it all in from the water, past reed beds, cows on the bank and the city wall in the distance. You usually set off from a rental company on the Zuid-Willemsvaart or just near the Citadel. From there you navigate through a small lock into the nature reserve and later loop back via the Binnendieze to the city centre.
A sloop for six to eight people costs around two hundred and fifty euros for a full day, often including fuel. No boating licence is required for sloops up to fifteen kilometres per hour. Choose a version with a skipper if the narrow Binnendieze is new to you, otherwise rent independently and receive a short briefing beforehand. A packed lunch, drinking water and a sun hat are the standard checklist.

- Choose a sloop with a low profile if you want to return via the Binnendieze.
- Always cruise slowly alongside the broek, a quarter throttle is usually enough.

- Bring cash or a card for lock fees and any terrace stops along the way.
