Keep your eyes open for buzzards, kingfishers and various species of duck, and in spring and autumn for a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees with wild flowers. If you want a longer walk, extend your route along the Vlaardingse Vaart, past the historic Visbank and the fourteenth-century Grote Kerk. Stick to the paths, bring water and leave nothing but footprints.
