Making your first print with a 3D printer

Thuis 3D-printen voelt als toveren zodra je eerste object van de plaat komt. Kies een printer die bij je past; een FDM-printer is voor beginners vaak het fijnst door het gebruiksgemak en de prijs. Maak vervolgens zelf een model in software als TinkerCAD of Fusion 360, of download een kant-en-klaar ontwerp van een platform als Thingiverse. Zorg dat het bestand een STL of OBJ is dat je printer aankan.
Bereid de printer voor: level de printplaat, want dat bepaalt het grootste deel van je resultaat, en laad het juiste filament zoals PLA of ABS. Gebruik slicing-software als Cura of PrusaSlicer om laaghoogte en supports in te stellen en de G-code op te slaan. Start de print en houd vooral die eerste laag goed in de gaten, daar valt of staat het mee. Laat de print afkoelen, controleer op fouten en werk hem eventueel bij met schuren of lakken.
