Wie op zoek is naar vijf kleuren, kijkt anders: niet naar de route of de tijd, maar naar de binnenkant van een bloem, de kleur van een boomstam na regen, het blauw dat bijna nergens is. Blauw is het lastigst in een bos, en dat weet iedereen al voordat ze vertrekken.
De meeste mensen merken dat het spel hen zelf ook meesleept. Je loopt langzamer, je bukt vaker, en op een gegeven moment sta je met je neus boven een paddenstoel te discussiëren of dat nou echt oranje is of toch bruin. Wie als eerste blauw vindt, mag de plek kiezen waar jullie stoppen om te eten. Dat maakt de vondst, hoe klein ook, even belangrijk als de bestemming.
