Few things make a weekend morning as good as the smell of fresh waffles. They are easier than you think: a handful of basic ingredients, a waffle iron and ten minutes of patience, and you have a breakfast that will wake up the entire house.
In this playbook you gather the ingredients, mix a smooth batter and bake the waffles golden brown. Serve them right away, still warm, and go all out with your favourite toppings: fresh fruit, yoghurt, syrup or even a scoop of ice cream. That way an ordinary Saturday turns into a little celebration.

Gather your ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, milk and butter. Vanilla sugar or cinnamon adds extra flavour.
Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and melted butter, then add that to the dry ingredients and stir until you have a smooth batter.
Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it. Spoon batter into the centre, close the lid and bake until the waffles are golden brown. Serve immediately.
Finish with your favourite toppings: fresh fruit, yoghurt, syrup or ice cream. The possibilities are endless.
