Packing a lunch bag for on the go
1 h€ 15 Calm
Before you hit the road, pack a lunch bag that stays fresh and nutritious all day. Here's how to do it smart.
Eating on the road doesn't have to mean a gas station sandwich. With a little preparation, you can pack a lunch that keeps your energy up and stays fresh all day. Choose ingredients that can handle a bit of a knock: whole grain bread, lean meat, fresh vegetables and fruit, and swap out mayonnaise for hummus or yogurt.
Slice everything into bite-sized pieces ahead of time, make your sandwiches, and add some healthy snacks. When packing, think about temperature: ice packs at the bottom, heavy items low, light things on top. Eat within four hours or keep everything below five degrees, and it'll stay safe and tasty until your last stop.
