An airplane is a strange place to dress for: cold from the air conditioning, cramped legroom, strict at security. With a few simple choices you can make the journey a lot more comfortable. Dress in layers, so you can put on or take off a cardigan depending on the temperature.
Choose loose-fitting clothes that don't restrict your circulation, especially on long flights, and shoes that slip on and off easily because your feet will swell. Leave bulky metal accessories at home to get through security quickly, and bring a scarf or thin blanket that can double as a pillow. That way you step off the plane feeling refreshed instead of stiff.
Dress in layers: a T-shirt with a sweater or cardigan on top, so you can easily adapt to the air conditioning.
Wear loose-fitting clothing such as wide-leg trousers or joggers for better circulation, especially on long flights.
Choose comfortable shoes that slip on and off easily, because your feet will swell. Compression socks help with swelling.
