Luchtverkeersrecht voelt in het begin als een droge stapel regels, maar zodra je de logica ervan begrijpt, zie je het terug in elke vlucht. Welke klasse luchtruim je mag binnenvliegen, hoeveel zicht je nodig hebt, wie er aan de rechterkant staat bij een nadering, het zijn geen willekeurige afspraken. Ze beschrijven een systeem dat vliegtuigen van elkaar gescheiden houdt, ook wanneer er geen controller aan de lijn is. Een PPL-piloot die weet waarom een ballon altijd voorrang heeft, vliegt anders dan iemand die het antwoord alleen uit het hoofd kent.
De meeste kandidaten onderschatten hoe precies de kennis moet zijn. Het verschil tussen drie kilometer zicht en vijf kilometer zicht, of tussen vijfhonderd voet onder en duizend voet onder een wolk, is precies het soort detail dat terugkomt in het examen en daarna in echte beslissingen boven bewolkt terrein. Dit onderdeel vraagt om herhaling, niet om begrip alleen.

Read the airspace classes for your country (A to G) and write down which ones a PPL pilot may enter under VFR.
