A better eye 1 of 8: Light before camera
Photography is looking at light. Twenty minutes at home to see where it comes from, how hard it is and what it does to a face.

Sit by a window with an apple or a cup. Turn it slowly and watch where the shadow falls.
Suggestion: Hard light from a small source, soft light from a big window.Photograph the object with the window behind you, beside you, and behind the object.
Suggestion: Three photos, same object. Look at the mood of each.Hang a white sheet or paper next to the object as a reflector. Photograph again.
Suggestion: This is how portrait light is made.Turn all lamps off except one. Photograph a hand in that light.
Suggestion: One source, one direction. Notice the drama.Pick the photo you like most and write one sentence why.
Suggestion: Words about light make you see it faster next time. For anyone copying this
