1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: your account details (name, email, language, region), the content you create (playbooks, reviews and photos of places), and the receipt photos you upload with a check-in. While you use the app we also process your location; sections 11 and 12 explain how.

2. How we use your information

Your information is used to provide the PlayTryBe experience. We do not sell your data. We do not optimize for engagement.

3. Data sharing

Published playbooks are visible to other users. Reflections are never shared. Your email is never displayed publicly.

4. Trust score

We maintain an internal trust score based on account age and behavior. This score is never displayed to you or other users.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

  • Right to access: Export your data from Settings
  • Right to rectification: Edit your profile anytime
  • Right to erasure: Delete your account in the app, from your profile
  • Right to data portability: Export produces a machine-readable JSON file

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data and private uploads such as receipt photos are removed. Published playbooks may remain as "Anonymous field contributions" after account deletion, so that content built on top of them keeps working.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. No tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Contact

For privacy inquiries, email us at hallo@playtrybe.com.

9. AI-assisted content

Part of the platform-generated playbooks and curation work is produced with the help of AI services from established providers. These providers act as data processors under a data processing agreement. We only send anonymous metadata (such as corpus statistics and topic hints) and never your account data.

10. Service providers

We use a transactional email provider for account emails, EU-based server hosting, and a public encyclopedia API (read-only, anonymous) for location verification. No advertising networks, no analytics trackers.

11. Location

We use your location only while you are using the app: to show places nearby and to verify that you are really at a place when you check in. The app never tracks your location in the background. You can view your location history in the app and delete it at any time.

12. Photos and receipts

Photos you add to a place are shown publicly on that place's page. Receipt photos are different: they stay private, are never shown to other users, and are used only to verify your visit for points and to prevent abuse. They are removed when you delete your account.
