The beach at Hoek van Holland is wide, clean and surprisingly easy to reach, as the metro from Rotterdam stops right next to the sand. You can swim, build sandcastles or watch large ocean-going vessels turn into the Nieuwe Waterweg. Around Zeeplein you will find beach bars for a coffee or a snack of fish after a good blow in the fresh air.

The beach is freely accessible all year round. The official beach season (with lifeguards and full facilities) runs from 1 May to 1 October.
