Better golf 4 of 8: A driving range session with a plan

Start

A bucket of balls without a plan is exercise. With a plan it is practice. One hour, sixty balls, four blocks.

Block one: fifteen wedges to one target. Rhythm only, no full swing.

Suggestion: Count the ones that land within a flag length.

Block two: fifteen mid irons alternating between two targets. Change target every ball.

Suggestion: This is how the course asks it of you.

Block three: ten drivers, then five three woods. Pick a fairway between two markers.

Suggestion: Score a hit only when it is between the markers.

Block four: play three holes of your home course in your head, ball by ball, changing clubs each shot.

Suggestion: Pre-shot routine on every ball.

Leave with a number: the block with the lowest hit rate is next week's focus.

Suggestion: Write it in your notes before you drive home.
